St Lucia is buzzing with anticipation for the return of its much-loved Estuary Arts Festival, set to transform the town's market square into a hub of creativity from October 27th to 29th. Now in its fifth year, the festival has become a cornerstone of the community calendar, drawing both residents and visitors to experience the vibrant artistic expressions rooted in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park's breathtaking landscape and the uMkhanyakude District's diverse cultures.
This year's festival promises an even broader array of talent, featuring over 40 local exhibitors. Attendees can expect to discover intricate beadwork reflecting Zulu traditions, landscape paintings capturing the iconic estuary and its wildlife, handcrafted jewellery, and photography that tells the story of St Lucia's unique ecosystem. Organisers emphasise the festival's role in supporting local livelihoods and promoting cultural exchange.
